The Challenge
A fast-growing consulting firm needed results. Five years into its journey, with offices in Chicago and
New York and a team of 20, the firm’s Co-Founders had outgrown their ability to manage their own
schedules, inboxes, and travel while still driving strategic growth. The firm needed someone who
could walk in on day one and immediately start contributing: prioritizing meetings, filtering emails,
tracking commitments, and keeping two entrepreneurial leaders focused on what mattered most.
Beyond executive support, the role required someone comfortable wearing an office manager hat,
coordinating everything from client gifting to supply orders to building relationships. The ideal
candidate needed to represent the Co-Founders with clients, have the independence to work without
heavy oversight, and the calm, strategic mindset to thrive amid shifting priorities.
Our Solution
We moved to identify candidates with a blend of polish, autonomy, and operational range this role
demanded. The search led us to a standout Executive Assistant with more than 18 years of
experience supporting senior leadership, including Executive Vice Presidents at a Fortune 500 energy
company, where she managed high-volume calendars, led cross-functional meeting planning, and
served as a strategic gatekeeper for executive time. Her background also included direct CEO support
in professional services environments, financial and vendor management expertise, and building the
operational infrastructure that growing organizations need. She had even driven measurable results
in past roles, including slashing outstanding receivables from $3M to under $300K through process
improvements.
The new Executive Assistant brought structure to their operations, streamlined communication
between the Co-Founders and their team, and gave leadership back the bandwidth to focus on
scaling the firm.
